Blogger’s Quilt Festival – Fall 2012

Amy's Creative Side

Have you been to visit the Blogger’s Quilt Festival? I’ve posted this photo before but I thought I’d put it up for the quilt festival because it is my most recent finished quilt top. I made it for my BFF’s daughter. The BFF wanted a little wall-hanging for her room so she asked me to make one.

And get this. I had been eye-balling Kate Spain’s Good Fortune collection but I’m not a great stasher and usually need an excuse to justify a fabric purchase. I happened to show it to the BFF knowing that she would love it but wasn’t sure if that is the kind of thing she wanted for her 2 year old. Thankfully she thought it would be perfect. Yay! I ordered a layer cake and now I have some Good Fortune bits left to play with.

But I also finished this super-cute pin cushion for a swap. I am thinking of it as a mock-cathedral window. Do you see the mockness? Am I just imagining that?

I used Oliver + S fabrics on this. Love that orange and turquoise combo. I sent this pincushion off to my partner yesterday. It feels nice to have finished something…

    It’s just wonderful! So cute.

  2. Cute pincushion! I love City Weekend too. I won a charm pack a while back and used some of it in a baby quilt, but I saved the oranges and teals for me. :)
