So the podcast was pre-empted last week in favor of a household project. Our foyer was sadly lacking – the “chandelier” was too small, too dim, and quite frankly rather resembled a saggy err, female part. Unfortunately I didn’t take any before pictures and the foyer isn’t quite done but I thought I’d reveal our lovely new chandelier. Even though The Husband and I spent the better part of three hours hanging it (it probably should have taken about twenty minutes) we are super-thrilled with how it turned out.
Also you’ll see a peak of our new paint job, which is still in progress. Home improvement, what an adventure!

And remember that thread I tried to dye? Oh what a disappointment. Look at how great the color turned out! But I couldn’t get it to stop bleeding and in desperation I tossed it into the washing machine. Ever wonder what happens when you wash perle cotton in the washing machine?

I spent about an hour trying to untangle it and gave up. Sigh! What a waste of wonderful color…

The chandelier looks good! My DH and I have hung lights, and it does take a lot longer than you think it would. We have a fan/light hanging over our staircase that needs replacing and we’re thinking we should hire someone.
I didn’t get to comment on your last post, but wanted to tell you how great the couch looks. I admire your courage tackling that job. Did you take a course or just figure it out on your own?
