Episode 20 – happy two-oh!

Do you want to win a Quilter’s Newsletter subscription?  Read on!

Thank you to the many listeners leaving comments!  The Husband especially likes your feedback :)

In March I had the opportunity to see Patricia Knoechel of Quilt-in-a-day fame speak and give sewing demonstrations.  It was well worth the $3.00 entrance fee and the 1/2 day of vacation!  She was promoting her sister Eleanor’s book, ‘Quilt Blocks on American Barns’. I bought a few things and had a great time.  I am glad I took the time to go.

Hurray!  I finished The Boy’s quilt.  Sorry, we are having technical difficulties with the camera so no photos yet but I wanted to share the awesomest finish on the binding I have seen: the ladder stitch!  I heard someone mention it on a podcast – I am thinking Annie Smith but honestly it was months and months ago so I am not sure who it was.  So I googled it to find a tutorial.  I found this super-clear and easy to follow tutorial at Turning Turning.  Check it out.

Head on over to Big Tent to join the Pioneer Quilter group!  You will need to join the main Quiltcast Supergroup before you can join Pioneer Quilter.  Signing up will get you entered in a drawing to win a year of Quilter’s Newsletter!  You can also enter by leaving a comment here and by leaving feedback on iTunes (and then notifying me of your feedback here.)

Have a listen!

Yay! The big 2-O. I’m going to listen tonight while working on my hand project!
    Congratulations!

  2. Debbie says:

I’ve been enjoying your podcasts since the beginning, Kelly! Congrats on reaching number 20.

I just let my QNM subscription laps due to having too many subscriptions, so winning this would be most welcome. Don’t worry, I have a U.S. mailing address. :)

Good luck with the next 20!

  3. Gretchen says:

Is The Husband recording his own podcast soon? I really think he should!
Will he be singing your opening and closing music?

Here’s my update – I started and finished one of the baby quilts. (I gave up on the idea of the other baby quilt! I’m a real slacker.) I actually machine quilted it myself, so I was not thrilled with the quilting, but the mom was so…

I’m making great progress on the big UFO. Someone should remind me to not do elaborate quilting! It takes way too long!!!!

  4. Tami says:

The Husband definately needs his own podcast. He scared the begeezies out of me with the sudden ninja routine.

  5. Janet says:

The western that The Husband recalls wacthing, do think it could be Blazing Saddles? My husband was watching that movie last weekend and there is a blonde cowboy in it.
Congrats on the anniversary. I like the interaction with you and The Husband. You guys make me laugh and my husband wonders what is so funny about a quilting podcast.

I really like your podcast–we all want careers in some quilty way, don’t we? I take the challenge for 15 minutes a day–that’s what the really efficient crafters have figured out! I would love to win the subscription, too, to keep me going, jill953
