Episode 54 – perfection revisted & fabric design

Can pursuing perfection be just another form of procrastination? Darla of Scientific Quilter thinks so and I would have to agree that it can be used that way. What do you think?

This is the book I talked about this episode: A Field Guide to Fabric Design, by Kim Kight.

  1. Torie says:

Yes, perfection and procrastination do seem to have a helix effect going on.

Love the ribbon on the quilt.

  2. I hear you on using perfection as a means of procrastination. I’m a longarmer & I’ve got a stack of personal quilts to do that are “waiting until I get that one design down.” Sheesh- I just need to get over it, quilt a panto & start using those quilts!

Also- you mentioned your first swap being a little “lack luster.” That’s been my experience too. Where are these people meeting others & making best friends? I never have chit chat with my fellow swappies & usually end up getting something that is sub-par shodily made of poor materials- if I get anything at all! I really should post some sock yarn I got in a swap. It looks like a toddler got sick on it. :(
