Hey! I’m posting a little past schedule this time because the Husband and I went to Baltimore/DC to attend a wedding over the weekend. He joined me in recording on the way home. Just so you know up front, The Husband said a few bad words. Sorry about that.
My favorite monument in DC is the Lincoln Memorial. The Husband noticed something I never had before: the cloth draped over his arm. Do you know what it is? Check it out:

And here is a (not very clear) shot of some of the African fabric that the bride used to decorate the tables. The bride’s mother asked me to take the accent fabric pieces under the centerpieces and make a quilt for the bride. Call me Miss Nerd because I was totally honored (and floored) to be asked!

Your name is Rumplestilskin.
Your husband is so funny. Sounds like you both had a great time at the wedding.
I loved the insite about the reflecting pool and the Lincoln monument. Because I am from Southern California is do not have any experence with Washington. I guess it is time I visit the Capital.
I was also going to guess Rumpelstiltskin and 8.
I enjoyed your Metro adventures as you tried to get around the Taste of Washington festival. There’s a reason that I stay out in Annapolis unless I have to go to DC or Baltimore.
Bonnie Hunter’s blog of a few days ago talks about her evil GPS took her through DC at rush hour; not a good time.
All the best.
I loved the travel podcast! I have never been to DC so I enjoyed the discription and details that you and the husband gave.
I am finally getting caught up on the podcasts. Just thought I’d give you my theory about the Washington Monument. Washington was the first President so his monument is a big three-dimensional number one. At least that’s my theory and I’m sticking to it.
