Yesterday I had the privilege to visit the International Quilt Festival in Cincinnati. My BFF Noelle and I left on Thursday night after The Husbands got home from work and left on our Odyssey. Noelle is not a quilter but she was a very good sport and asked lots of quilting questions. I know she’ll probably never quilt but she does have quilt appreciation!
The show was terrific. We had a great time looking over the quilts and probably even a greater time shopping the vendors. I bought a 2-1/2 strip roll and a fat quarter group of some Kaffe Fasset prints, a Moda Candy Bar box with Fandango, Bliss, City Weekend, and Breakfast at Tiffany’s prints, a book called “Beautiful Botanicals” by Deborah Kemball, a cute little scrap-booking grandma brag book for my mom, and a program.
|Deborah was actually at the show because she was showing a quilt that was Best in Show. It was a totally gorgeous quilt. And it hit all the right chords with me – hand-applique and hand quilted.
Since Deborah was at the show…she was also signing copies of her book. Of course I’m such a dork I had to have one with her signature. I even made Noelle take a picture of me next to her. He he.
The show was great fun but I am glad to be home with The Fam. It was only one night but I sure did miss them!
