You can use pre-cuts to make the quick-piecing techniques in this pattern go even faster. Learn two methods to create pinwheels and arrange them into a dynamic quilt that is perfect for use as a large throw.
The pattern suggests the use of a “layer cake” of precuts (10 inch squares of fabric) for the pinwheels and a jelly roll in white or a neutral color that coordinates with your pinwheel fabric. This saves cutting time; however if you prefer to cut your own fabric that is also possible. In that case, you’ll need forty 10 inch by 10 inch squares (roughly 3 yards) for the pinwheels and a yard of the sashing fabric. Whether you use precuts or not you will also need about 3/4 of a yard for the binding.
You’ll also need a piece of batting and backing that is 68 inches x 68 inches.
